1. Introduction
Welcome to Sànset. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the digital estate planning platform available at sanset.ae (the "Platform"). These Terms form a binding legal agreement between you and the Sànset group entity responsible for the relevant Services (together, "Sànset," "we," "us," or "our").
By accessing or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms.
2. Our Services
Sànset provides a self-help digital platform that lets users create, store and manage estate planning documents using automated tools and templates (the "Services").
2.1 Self-help platform
Sànset is a technology platform, not a law firm. The Services are provided on a self-help basis only. We do not provide legal advice, legal opinions or legal representation. The availability of jurisdiction-specific templates does not constitute legal advice or reserved legal services.
2.2 User responsibilities
- The accuracy of the information you provide.
- Deciding whether the Services are appropriate for your needs.
2.3 Jurisdiction-specific Services
Certain Services are designed to facilitate the creation of estate planning documents intended for use in specific jurisdictions, including the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
3. Account & security
To use the Services you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
4. User eligibility
Our Services are currently designed for:
- Expatriates residing in or owning assets in the UAE.
- Users at least 21 years of age with the legal capacity to contract.
5. Fees, payments & merchant of record
5.1 Pricing
We offer transparent, one-time pricing for our document packages. Current prices are shown on the Platform at the time of purchase.
5.2 Payment processing
Payments are processed securely through PCI-DSS compliant third-party providers. Your bank statement may show charges as "SÀNSET" or "SANSET.AE".
5.3 Refunds
Because access to documents is immediate on payment, all sales are final and non-refundable once payment is confirmed and access is granted, except as set out in our published guarantee.
5A. Sànset Membership
Sànset Membership is an optional annual subscription that gives you ongoing access to will updates and early access to new products as they become available on the Platform.
Membership is billed annually at the price shown at checkout and renews automatically each year on the anniversary of your original purchase. We send you a reminder by email before each renewal.
Membership covers Sànset platform fees only. Government, court or registration fees (such as DIFC or ADJD will registration fees) are not included.
You can cancel at any time by emailing info@sanset.ae. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing cycle.
6. Intellectual property
The Platform - including all code, content, visual interfaces and templates - is the exclusive property of Sànset and is protected by international copyright and trademark laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, personal licence to use the Platform to create and store your own estate planning documents. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or reverse engineer any part of the Platform.
7. Data privacy & security
We take your privacy seriously. Your personal data is handled in line with our Privacy Policy. We use industry-standard encryption to protect your sensitive information.
8. Liability & disclaimers
The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sànset is not liable for any indirect, consequential or incidental damages, and our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the relevant Services.
9. Governing law & dispute resolution
We prefer to resolve concerns directly. Before filing a claim against Sànset, please contact us at info@sanset.ae so we can try to resolve the issue informally. If a dispute is not resolved within thirty (30) days, either party may bring a formal proceeding.
These Terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates as applicable in the Emirate where Sànset is licensed. The parties submit to the jurisdiction of the competent UAE courts, including the DIFC Courts where applicable.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via a notice on the Service before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
